Custom ring for an architect. He asked why I appropriated the tic tac toe game for his signet ring. I said: "You are an architect. Creative, inspired, daring in your concepts and designs. But you are playing a game that is hard to win because you must satisfy the client as well as code ordinances, state and local requirements, perhaps neighborhood restrictions of design. It must feel like an impossible game to win"  He laughed and laughed and we drank wine and spent an hour or so playing tic tac toe to come up with a pattern he loved.
